Our expert speaker for the October event has founded or co-founded over a dozen different companies, taken some public, and has been a CEO of both public and private companies, a consultant, venture capitalist, private investor, and professional board member – 54 fiduciary corporate boards and in 2013 the Dallas Business Journal and NACD selected him as one of 12 Outstanding Directors in North Texas.

Dennis Cagan will address topics such as:

  • September 14 – Speaking out with Maximum Impact
    Guest Speaker: Linda Dunkel
        Linda Dunkel, Chair Emeritus of Interaction Associates, will present her thoughts on adding
        value early and often on Boards.  She will offer her own “Five Key Tips” for increasing our
        contributions as Board Members.


        Linda will also lead us in a short skill-building exercise about “Speaking Out” with maximum impact,
        a key attribute of successful Board participation and leadership.

  • May 4 – Crisis Management Panel Discussion
    The Role of the Board When the Company is in Crisis

    Guest Speakers: Mary Jackson, Terry Crane, Billie Williamson and Kit Addleman,
    June Shrewsbury, Moderator
        Every day the headlines report some type of corporate crisis brewing and how the company
        deals with it determines if they weather the storm or not.  The board’s engagement with and
        support of the management team and other key constituents can be a determining factor in
        a successful outcome.   In fulfilling the role of a fiduciary and protecting shareholders, can board
        members continue with a posture of   “eyes in, fingers out” in the middle of a crisis?   Engage
        with a panel of experts as they explore current thoughts and strategies on the role of the board
        in governance, public relations and government relations, before, during and after a crisis.

         
  • April 14 – Cybersecurity Panel
    Guest Speakers: Steve Hawkins and Mike VanDenBerg, Panelist
    Brenda Boehm, Moderator
        Join us for a panel discussion on Cybersecurity for the Board and C-Suite.
        An overview of what every director and executive should know about cyber risk.



  • March 24 – Strategic Networking and New Member Welcome
    Members Only
        TBC's first strategic networking and new member welcome event for 2016 is designed to introduce
        our new members and get to know one another better in order to support our members on the path
        to securing a board role. This member only event will provide you with an opportunity to share your
        story, discuss your board readiness level and seek assistance from fellow TBC members.
